Bang the Drum: Mr. Bush, This is Madness

Iran declared war on us in 1979 and their continued targeting of US forces is a de facto declaration of war. Iran is the leading exporter of terrorism on the planet, as even the UN agrees, and is mightily striving to increase the tempo of sectarian violence. What you call "lies" is a necessary part of war. We don't really want our adverseries know what we are actually doing, do we?

Re Vietnam. After the American departure from Vietnam, the regime of Pol Pot flowered without a viable check to their aspirations in southeast Asia. The result? 2 million slaughtered in Laos and Cambodia. What else happened? Well, my father, Vietnamese, was tortured and killed by the communists, after being re-educated, of course.

Sorry, Michael, but I don't buy it. I don't buy that our leaders must lie to us in the name of National Security. At the time Bush initiated this evil war, he sent Colin Powell to the UN armed with lies -- proven lies -- to justify the pending action against Iraq.

There is a clear correlation between the quest for oil and the actions in Iraq, as was also true with Vietnam.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that there is no motive more powerful than money and power for war, and Bush lusts for both.
