    As one who swore to defend that constitution: damn straight. Little pisses me off more than trashing the very thing the country is not only founded on, but the very thing every member of the military AND position of elected office is sworn to uphold and defend.

    Thanks to both of you. What worries me the most is the simpletons who will actually believe McCain and wring their hands in fear that there is even the remotest possibility that Bin Laden would be allowed appeals to the court.

    The subliminal message there is, of course, "You can't trust those liberal judges to do the right thing." People can be utterly dense sometimes.

    What the average person doesn't realize is that if we bend the rules of habeas corpus so we can torture and beat people we think did something wrong before we charge them in a court of law and convict then as some point that will be used against everyone for anything.

    I fear for this country because of the terrorists who have controlled it for the past 7.5 years.
